Michel Danino

Independent scholar, author, and educationist. Has been living in India since 1977, currently near Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, now an Indian citizen. Has lectured widely on aspects of Indian civilization, especially in cultural and educational institutions, including several IITs. Currently a guest professor at IIT Gandhinagar, where he is assisting the Archaeological Sciences Centre. Convener of the International Forum for India’s Heritage. A life member of the Indian Archaeological Society (New Delhi), the Indian History and Culture Society (New Delhi),  the Indian Society for Prehistoric and Quaternary Studies (Pune), and the Indian Society for the History of Mathematics. Writes in English and French. Has contributed papers to “Man and Environment”, “Puratattva”, “Dossiers d’archéologie”, etc. His recent books are _L’Inde et l’invasion de nulle part_ (Les Belles Lettres, Paris, 2006), _The Lost River: On the Trail of the Sarasvati_ (Penguin Books, New Delhi, 2010) and _Indian Culture and India’s Future_ (DK Printworld, New Delhi, 2011). _The Dawn of Indian Civilization and the Elusive Aryans_ is under preparation.
